Demolition

Demolition is the tearing down of buildings and other structures. It differs from deconstruction, which involves carefully taking a building apart and preserving valuable materials for re-use. Small buildings are usually pulled down  or mechanically, using large hydraulic equipment, elevated work platforms, cranes, excavators, or bulldozers.

Larger buildings require the use of a wrecking ball. This method is especially effective with masonry.
Newer methods include the use of rotational hydraulic shears and silenced rock-breakers attached to excavators to cut or break through wood, steel, and concrete.
W H J Projects (Pty) Ltd in conjunction with Demolition Cape use shears when demolishing concrete, steel, wooden, and brick structures. We ensure professional and innovative approaches to our projects, which ensure safety, efficiency and timeous completion of projects at a competitive price.
